Considering the fact that nowadays the life is becoming more and more dynamic and young graduate professionals do not have much time to do their MBA’s, because they are working full time and its difficult to leave everything in order to do the MBA.

Recently I have been doing some research of what are the subjects that they teach in a typical MBA program, and asked myself: Is it possible to do a self-study MBA. By getting all the books needed for each subject, online research and also find some quizzes online to test myself.
Therefore I became very curios about it and wanted to post a question in the yahoo answers.
So I am very much looking forward to get some thoughts and opinions about it, I would preferably like to get some answers from professors who teach MBA’s at universities.

Nothing stopping you from getting textbooks in the subjects and self-studying. However, to sum up an MBA that simply would be an insult to anyone who’s attended or taught an accredited MBA program.
MBA is about teamwork; using a team approach to learn and build. As a team, you will consult with *real* companies to do actual feasibility studies, assessments, and such that they need done. You learn from one another and have access to a huge pool of knowledge from your professors. Classes are often taught using the Socratic method, so differing points of views are heard by classmates who are experienced professionals. By studying a book, all you get is one point of view, and books are usually sorely out of date.
To sum it up, no, it’s not the same.
No, I don’t think there is a reputable business school that is offering MBA by correspondence. Generally, a MBA programme is one year (UK) or two years (US) full time. The Executive MBA (EMBA) can be taken part time of at least a year. You need to spend time in the graduate school if you wish to take a MBA.
